For some odd reason developing a new app may seem so hard, and impossible especially if you are new!

Before you develop an app you need to make sure that you are going to create an image like no other, so you can fascinate the world.

Creating the design of the app is not hard at all. You just have to be super creative, when you begin to build an app you need to plan out the design, retreat, and examine the way you are building the app.

I suggest all businesses that have a super large audience develop an app, people love apps and mobile phones are being used so much today that it is a necessity to have one. It is expected to global downloads will exceed 200 BILLION by 2020, that is amazing.

DESIGN PROCESS STEP BY STEP

1.) WE WANT TO CREATE A LAYOUT OF THE APP WE LIKE TO CALL IT THE STRATEGY

What we want to do here is create a layout, and see how the user will navigate around the app.

TARGET AUDIENCE

WHO IS GOING TO USE YOUR APP

Is this app for mothers, fathers, kids? We want to make sure we create the design of the app according to demographics of the target audience.

Here we will do some research and figure out what we can do in order to create the perfect design for your target audience. You will be surprised how much this helps!

DEFINE KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

What value is this app going to bring to the business? and what is it going to offer to your clients.

If the app fails to not do so well, then the name of the brand will not look good at all. Studies show that brands with awful apps drop their client ratio by 25%.

The most important metric for apps is NEW USERS. This will make your app some good money, and your pockets will thank you later on. Here is a chart explaining what differs when it comes to metrics.

Some other important questions to be answered during this phase include:

  • Type of app required. Do you need a hybrid app or a native app?
  • Should your business build app in-house or should it be outsourced?
  • Which platform to target first – android or iOS?

Finally, start promoting your new app at this stage because you now know what it is, who is it for, and what it will do. This is the right time to create early buzz and engagement.

DEVELOP A TESTING STRATEGY

Yes you need to test your app. Because every app has bugs – yours will have too.

You may not get rid of the bugs completely, but you can minimize these issues by creating a workable testing strategy. It’s an outline that clearly states the testing approach.

The test strategy should be defined before the coders get to work. Here’s what to include in the test strategy:

  • What is the scope of the app?
  • What is not in the scope?
  • The features
  • Individual cases
  • Outcome
  • App versions and integration

Although there are more steps to the design of the app. We sought out to help those who want to get started, and give them an introduction on how to start out when creating a design.

I hope you enjoyed this blog.
